Talk about weird! Check out the weirdness that this weird creature exudes! Pretty weird. Take a look at these other weirdos. I don't want any of them anywhere near any part of me!
Some crazy prop maker went and made himself the Aperture Science Hand-held Portal Device from the awesome game Portal. This currently is a one-off that is going to be up for auction through "Child's Play", a charity group that wants to better the lives of children in hospitals. My son would go absolutely bonkers for this (and I of course want it too). You can head to Volpin Props to see the step-by-step build of it as well.
I finally was able to dig myself out of the rubble. My house collapsed in an enormous earthquake 4 months ago and I made it out just in time for hallowe'en. I survived on nothing but cement dust and occasionally sucked on some splintered wood for some nutrients. I bathed using my own filth. Contrary to what you may expect, I just simply relaxed. It was quite nice. Nothing to do. No chores, no worries. Like a vacation and now I'm all ready to blog again unless I suffer from post traumatic stress.
So Mike Ferraro, game designer, chopper builder and an all around handsome man, kicked Hallowe'en right in the fucking balls with this work of art!
Turns out this mug's popped up on numerous sites across the entire world wide web (http://www.worldwideweb.com). Here's Mike's Youtube video of the mask in action.
Then there's good old John Dryden. Last year he was a douchebag...
...but this year he outdoes himself as Adolph Hipster!
After years and years of watching and quoting the Winnebago Man, John Dryden and I kept saying that we should do a documentary on Jack Rebney, the Winnebago Man. Well, of course, we never got around to it and someone else did. It looks fantastic!!
After watching these credits I needed to call an ambulance. I'm blogging this right now with my iPhone in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. When the movie comes out on May 5th, I'm first in line...hold on...the paramedics are advising that I don't see this movie.
I admit when I first read an Axe Cop, I wasn't all that impressed. I loved the art but thought that the stories were a bit stupid and randomly dumb. It wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that I learned that Axe Cop is written by 5-year old Malachai Nicolle (now 6) and illustrated by his incredibly talented 29 year-old brother, Ethan. After I figured that out, I went back to the beginning to re-read them and it all makes perfect sense! Pure genius! Head over to the Axe Cop site for a real awesome time and it'll remind you what being 5 years old was all about -- dinosaurs, blood, axes, super-heroes, swords, robots, ninjas, aliens, bombs. I'm going to get all of the aforementioned items tattooed on my chest and neck tomorrow.
The Vancouver punk rock doc that I've been somewhat attached to is finally getting some exposure. Check out the just-released web site for this pretty awesome doc! It's a pretty in-depth look at the Vancouver punk scene in the 1970's & 80's with awesome archival footage and interviews with key personalities of that scene.
Great idea! Can't wait to see how this works out! 5 directors given the same dialogue and the mandate to make a ground-breaking short film out of that dialogue. Here's the trailer:
The marketing kit to this rum is pretty sweet. Comes with a Kraken tooth. I want a kraken tooth. I have always wanted a kraken tooth. Can anyone help me get my hands on either a kraken tooth or this media kit? I'll give you a foot massage or better yet...a brain rub? Have you ever had one of those? If you haven't, a brain rub's amazing. It involves my fingers rubbing your brain for 8 seconds.
Mr. Fisher and Mr. Price are putting out a bigfoot toy this summer. It makes its debut at the New York Toy Fair this weekend and when it hits the shelves it's supposedly going to be a c-note. Personally, I do not want one so please, do not waste your money buying me one, but thanks for the offer.
In Oct. of 2007, a photo of a mysterious creature showed up and the creature has been dubbed The Jacob's Creature. There's been a lot of talk on what this is. Many people say it's a juvenile bigfoot while others say it's a bear (myself, a believer in the existence of the creature, included). I've gotten a lot of comments over the years on people's thoughts of this creature and today a guy just sent me this gif, to prove that it's not a bear.
This Youtube video was also added in the comments (love the music at the scientific part).
Dude, take any two pictures that are taken at different times, from different angles, from different cameras, different lighting, different objects, and they'll have...wait for it...different qualities! HOLY SHIT! If anything, you're supporting the fact that it's a bear. Sir or, most likely, dear child, please go to this link to see my take on the issue (dated November 05, 2007). Here's a picture from that entry where I took a side by side picture of the creature and a version with a pasted on bear-head. The entry itself has more images to help clarify the image.
Also, here's another side-by-side comparison of two similar things taken by different cameras, at different times. I've included some guides similar to yours to help show the difference between the two. Click on the image so it's biggerized for better viewing.

Click this link to watch (in horror) as the Google Street View car is pursued by rare and despicable Norwegian frog-men (thought to be extinct centuries ago).
Before I start, I'd like take this opportunity to welcome our dark-overlords from Nebula 5! On January 29th of this year, the Hubble telescope captured this image of what kinda looks like a spaceship. NASA doesn't know for sure what it is. More info on this from an article from the Toronto Star.
Make sure you start every day off with a good digital eye-gouge by visiting Yvettes! I have now set this page up as my default homepage on my internet channel. Be sure to crank your volume too. If I don't show up at work tomorrow it's because this site won't let me escape its gaze.
Here's an awesome teaser for the yet-to-be produced animated zombie flick A.D. From what I understand, there's no movie currently, but the film makers are hoping to generate a buzz with this teaser.
It was directed by Ben Hibon (director of the awesome Codehunters short). Head here for an interview with the creators of the project.
It's certainly not up there with the quality of Avatar (but come on, who can?) but it's still amazing what these film makers did with their millions of dollars and the use of some state-of-the-art CGI technology. Awesome action sequence from the film Alluda Majaka (1995), starring the "Megastar" Chiranjeevi and directed by E.V.V. Satyanarayana. Action choreography is by Vijayan.
Check out the awesomeness that is Colin Stimpson. He's an Art Director and Production Designer for many animation projects as well a children's book illustrator. Head over to his site to see more of his work!
Here is a captivating short documentary on the classic Screen Gems logo and how it terrorized us as a society. Truly fascinating as I too was traumatized by this horror of celluloid.
Update: I took down the video feed as the volume control settings on the source was driving people to kill their fellow man. The link below is still active...
Use your mouse to click and drag around the video to change the view. You can also zoom in and out. Pause and explore at any time by pressing the play/pause button under the video to stop and look around. The video below was shot on Monday, January 18, at 9:52 a.m. EST in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
UPDATE! Ferraro had the balls (and gall) to point out that the end of the Chewie/Han wall wasn't included...it is there now and of course, like any joke, it's much funnier with a punchline.
