KAMALA IS "FIRMLY PLANTED"

My wife Kamala's short film is in the VIFF this year and The Courier caught up with her and asked her 10 questions. You can read her responses here!

THE LEAGUE OF SUPER EVIL

Nerd Corps (the CGI animation house I am directing at) has finally released the trailer for our new series The League of Super Evil. I was fortunate enough to work on 6 11-minute episodes before having to move on to series-direct a new up-coming top-secret series. BONUS! I edited the trailer you are about to see... click the image above to watch the trailer!

SKATE & CREATE 2008

Check out the results of TransWorld SKATEboarding's first annual Skate & Create contest.  The winning team, DVS's video is amazing (they're all great).  The contest consists of a four teams of five pro skaters, a photographer and a videographer and 9-days (each team) in a warehouse stocked with everything they need to make ramps.

LARGE HADRON COLLIDER IS GO!

The LHC test of shooting a beam of protons through a 27km long circular tunnel was successful. On Oct. 21, the CERN project will fire two beams in opposite directions to have them collide with each other in order to gain more information about dark matter, anti-matter, the origins of our universe and possibly gain more knowledge on dimensional rifts in space and time. NEW HAUNTED HOUSE!

A new potentially-haunted house is being built near Halfsquatch Studios. I'm not sure who the architect is or what kind of ghoul-like humanoid he/she may be but I'm thinking that he/she might have a dark cloak and perhaps skeletal features (bone hands/feet; face?). Another option is that it's an older vampire-type person affiliated to the Masons. I've assigned Halfsquatch occult reporter John Dryden to investigate the house further by checking in on it now and again; going into the basement to see if any sacrificial concrete table or altar has been built into the foundation itself or any other occultish anomalies and what-have-you. When it is completed Halfsquatch will try to attend the owner's first home-warming party and find our way to its temple. My guess is that there will be a games-room in the basement and a fairly decent bookshelf which hides a secret staircase leading to a subterranean crypt-like dungeon on the right and a satanic temple to the left. There's probably a cloak room in the hall down there too as well as a small basic 2-piece bathroom (Home Depot).

The dungeon's down there on the right

and on the left is the temple
A powder room in the main hall and
outside the window: just dirt/earth.

SHEPARD FAIREY ARRESTED

Street poster artist Shepard Fairey was arrested on August 25th for postering unauthorized posters and interference with police authority. Supposedly he and some of his crew were surrounded by police in full riot gear; guns drawn, yelling "Get on the fucking ground or we’re going to kick you in the fucking head!" while postering the famous Obama "Hope" posters.
