My very first official posting on Halfsquatch was on the Winnebago Man. The second post was a follow up to that first post.
After years and years of watching and quoting the Winnebago Man, John Dryden and I kept saying that we should do a documentary on Jack Rebney, the Winnebago Man. Well, of course, we never got around to it and someone else did. It looks fantastic!!

Winnebago Man--"I fucked up the word 'rear'."
Dearest damsels and gentlemens,
It is with great pleasure to present to you fine people something wonderful. There are a few things in this world that have lasting staying power over the course of years. You know, like that perfect song that you never get sick of (How Soon Is Now), or a book that you could re-read over and over (Eaters of the Dead).
A number of years ago, back in 1993 or something like that, my good pal Greg Richardson, then an on-set video playback dude for features and commercials, got his grubby mits on a then underground industry tape called "Winnebago Man." Since then, we've quoted from it innumerable times and just recently i've written a number of Winnebago Man's classic lines from this industrial video's outtakes into a feature I've written and am directing.
More recently, another good chum John Dryden, a key-grip, jack-of-all-trades kind-of-guy, worked on a commercial. The D.O.P. of this commercial overheard John reciting some Winnebago Man lines, walked over to John and explained that he was the cameraman for that industrial video shoot. NO WAY?!?! HOW COOL IS THAT?!?!?! Well it gets cooler than a frozen muckluck and in my next blog I'll explain why. Stay tuned!

RETURN OF THE WINNEBAGO MAN

A friend of mine, John Dryden, was working on a commercial and found out that the DOP of the shoot was the actual cameraman for the Winnebago Man fiasco. A few months after the commercial shoot, as promised, the DOP sent John a bunch of unseen footage. There's a ton of stuff and I edited it down to some of the best. And so now, for your enjoyment, THE RETURN OF THE WINNEBAGO MAN!
